You've made it out of the prairie and underbrush, congratulations! But with the lack of supplies from the journey around Alderwood has left you beat. Your horses hate you, you've got sand up in places where it's not welcome, you're hungry, cranky, and if you've been riding you'll be walking like Dean for a little bit. Lucky enough for you, the next town isn't much of a detour, so you can restock, trade, and try not to burn anything down.
[Mission: Stock up, let the horses rest, treat your cholera, etc]

[makes a face at him like she was expecting a big reveal. copped out. follows his line of sight to the bell and reaches over to slap a hand down on it]

[ it. it was loud. ]
That I can explain.

[hold that thought. leans over to touch innkeepers arm before he can get a word in edgewise and wrassles a free room out of him. she hasn't paid for anything since she was like..never]
[leans back with a key jangling with a proud smile. gold star 4 her.]

I mean, about what happened. When I disappeared...and Jimmy was here. [ since it kind of was right after they worked out an arrangement and everything. ] If you want to know.
no subject
[yeah she has literally no idea about any of that other than he had something to do with the weeping angels and jimmy and he are separate people]
[starts up the stairs to find her room]
no subject
[ isn't going to pick up on the need to be invited until they're p much at her door. ]
He consented, I should clarify that.
no subject
[smiles teasingly as they stop in front of the door and she pushes it in, peeling her jacket off after she sets the basket down on a little table. it's not as fancy as alderwood, kind of log cabinesque homey and small to boot but a bed's a bed. turns around to look at him still hanging back there]
This isn't like a vampire thing is it? Do I have to invite you? I formally grant you permission to enter my temporary abode. [with a flourish]

[really. who do you think you're talking to. crosses the room to close the door behind him, moving a hand over his chest to tug at the coat]
Don't you ever take this off? Make yourself comfortable. And keep talking. I'm curious now.
no subject
[ but maybe her wily wiles are just that good, because he's unfastening the coat's clasps with both hands before he really thinks about why. ]
I've never found it uncomfortable. [ but it seems to be the thing that u do in bedrooms. remove jackets or coats. throw them onto furniture. ]
What was I saying?
no subject
[helps him pull it off and does just that. coat meet chair.]
no subject
[ watches the coat flop onto the chair, like having his armor stripped off. can't help you now buddy. you're on your own. ]
I was sure you'd think, after what happened with the statues and my chanting, and then Jimmy, I was sure you'd think I was--
no subject
[you can stop me anytime here. pats his chest briefly before retreating to sit on the bed. all that succubusing on an empty stomach makes for a less peppy bo]
Well I don't know what to think about you, but I know you're not bad, whatever you are.
no subject
[ touches his chest where she patted him and considers, head canted to the side, before locking eyes with her where she's seated. ]
I'll show you. If you can promise not to tell another soul.
no subject
Cross my heart and hope to die.
no subject
[ the flames in the gaslamps flare high and bright for the span of a heartbeat or two, casting the shadows of his wings on the door behind him. ]
no subject
What was that?
[that didn't explain anything. you're lies.]
Oh my god, I know this. You're Bird-Man!
no subject
I'm an angel.
no subject
[repeats it in a dry voice, hands dropping to her lap.]
I've seen some things, but I don't know if that's- that's. Kind of hard to believe.
no subject
You saw the demon. Why is this more difficult to believe?
[ moves closer, planning to sit on the edge of the bed but also observing whether or not she tries to move away. ]
I don't teleport. I fly.
no subject
So you're...so we. Wow, that's like, a celebrity sex encounter or something. Is god mad? Is there a god? I totally defiled an angel.
[she's never getting into heaven now]
no subject
God...isn't very involved in what angels do, these days. So no, I'm certain He isn't mad.
[ very best reassuring tone. ]
no subject
[forgot what word harp is. it happens. she banged an angel.]
You didn't get kicked out did you? Sorry, I'm asking a lot of questions. [subtly trying to reach a hand out in the general vicinity of his back like grabbing at air over his shoulder. where's the wing at. there's no wing. the shadow said there was wings.]
no subject
[ turns his head to watch her hand because sorry not sorry you are not being subtle about any of the things, bodacious. ]
I, I'd rather not talk about Heaven, if that's all right. [ triggering me. ] It's very complicated.
no subject
It's complicated for you? Yeah, I'd say it's complicated for me, too. [and all of us down here kickin it wondering if god hates us. curls fingers back and pulls hand into lap again] We must be so tiny to you.
[she hates that feeling. she doesn't stargaze or think about the bigger picture because being made to feel insignificant in some grand scheme is depressing]
