The sun rises and the forest is very quiet. No sign of the guards. Maybe Jakky and Jessica found out a way to distract them or maybe she just ate them all... you'll never know. That's good news so try not to dwell on it.
If you keep your eyes on the skyline you may notice a pack of crows flying past. When you travel the flora and fauna around you change like they should, but those damn birds are just here to stay apparently. Someone really paranoid might think they're following you, haha!
[ mission: move on. ]

That's weird.
no subject
They follow. [ it's probably the shinning metal things all of you carry that's attracting them ]
no subject
Yeah, that's why it's weird.
no subject
Maybe they are looking for a new nest.

[ has about a thousand eyes and at the moment, a dozen or so are dedicated to constantine's movements, so to say his return goes unnoticed would be too optimistic. ]

[you know the prickle at the back of your neck where you feel like someone's watching you? constantine feels like that, times like twenty-four. it's not comfortable by a long shot, and he's good at the little shifts in the world which allow him to slip between the shadows unnoticed. so it's not that he's done a shit job coming back, it's that someone was watching for him.
after a bit of puttering around he slips back into the woods, not really wanting to get left behind but unable to shake that feeling of being watched that he really, really can't stand.]

[ of course, it doesn't matter that constantine is skirting the edges of the encampment while everyone else is packing up to leave. it wouldn't matter if he was the first one on the trail or the last, either. wherever he is in their lineup, he's not going to be able to shake that sensation. ]
[ if he's even a quarter as clever as he thinks he is (and for him to have survived in his line of work, that's like the minimum requirement), it shouldn't take him too damn long to sort out where all the Watchery is coming from. ]

[i guess we're heading out now so great for that. everything's great. it's just great. it's not great, no one told him it was freaking satan in a tiny red dress. there are so many things wrong with what just happened and he's not going to talk about any of it. so basically par for the dean course. he slaps the contract onto hooks chest as he walks past. he can deal with shredding it but he fucking owes him now.]

[rubs at her neck because sleeping last night was horrible between monkeys and the uneven ground, but briefly stops to look up at the murder of crows. ITS CALLED A MURDER, POST.]
Well if that's not ominous..

What, we're gonna be suspicious of the birds now too?
