Night blankets the villages south of the wall. While the pacifistic Gagarians are huddling around what may be the last bowls they'll ever smoke, the Hildnr are preparing to march and ride out in force come the dawn. Thankfully, you're far enough north that the nights are a hell of a lot longer than normal. Looks like you have about fourteen hours to kill.

You'll probably want to make a stop at the armory to get equipped, at some point, but there's also a fair amount of feasting happening where a bard is telling tales of the Hildnr's victorious history. The Blood Queen is in attendance, accepting oaths and blessing the warriors.

Of course, if what you'd rather do is train, the training yards are open, and there's a small barracks hall that's been outfittedwith clean furs and a roaring fire so you can rest before unleashing your bloodlust. Thoughtful!

Just don't forget: you still gotta find the blood champion, save the helpless stoner fratboys, and make it over that fuckhuge wall before lunchtime tomorrow.

Well....

...It's better for technology anyway.

The most it's been useful here is diagnosis, detecting traps and putting good use to old shackles.

[thats how i got you on the beach remember]

[ yeah i've been meaning to thank you for that. ]

Shouldn't it be with him then?

Apparently sword fighting isn't the only new skill you've been practicing. Stealing now too? You're not far from becoming a proper pirate, lass.

[ since you got the traitor side covered and all. ]

Excuse you, he lets me borrow it whenever I'm curious.

I only steal when it's needed.

[goes back to tinkering]
cabineye: (8)

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
[ so you do steal. ]

Exactly.

Pirates take only what is needed.

I don't see what giant troves of treasure is good for if you're not going to do anything with it.

[you're kind of like tacky hoarders]

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
Not all gold is meant to be spent, lass.

It's to be admired and appreciated.

[ a doctor who companion wouldn't understand. ]
pareidoll: (69)

[personal profile] pareidoll 2013-03-01 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
And you need that?

[thats silly]
cabineye: (14)

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
The gold needs us. It calls us.

[ pirate logic. ]

Sounds like a curse.

[tries calling phone with the communicator on her wrist]
cabineye: (9)

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
It's a blessing, you can take my word for it.

[ gold never lets you down. gold never dies. ]

And that?

[ it's not just a bracelet. more junk? ]
pareidoll: (28)

[personal profile] pareidoll 2013-03-01 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
Just a fancier version of this. They allow communication across long distances, or are supposed to under presumed networks. Neither of our communicators are compatible, but they could be with the right tender loving care.

[succeeds in getting the phone to react]

[smiles]

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
How's that possible?

Is it a spell?
pareidoll: (50)

[personal profile] pareidoll 2013-03-01 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
It's not magic, but explaining it might as well be the same thing. It's science.

[sonics phone a bit more]
cabineye: (15)

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ sounds boring. ]

[ besides magic is just troublesome anyway. he'll stick to the rum. ]

[fiddling]

[throws in after a long drinking silence]

I had a ship once, too. You know. It floated through the sky.
cabineye: (Default)

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
[ looks at her. a ship like that would be nice. ]

Really?

Was it a cargo ship?
pareidoll: (73)

[personal profile] pareidoll 2013-03-01 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
No...

[pauses. she cant remember what it was exactly. perturbed.]

[ that's disturbing. ]

I assume it wasn't a galley.

How did it stay up there? Technology?
pareidoll: (40)

[personal profile] pareidoll 2013-03-01 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Well. It went into space. Through the stars. You don't fear falling when you're traveling to stars because there's no where down.

[resumes tinkering]
cabineye: (3)

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
Quite like traveling to Neverland then. Ever been there?

[ flashbacks. at least i have them. ]

I think not. Where did you make port? On the moon?
pareidoll: (31)

[personal profile] pareidoll 2013-03-01 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
Hundreds of places across the galaxy and the next one over.

[misses it but knows there's no going back to it]

Starports. Planets. Moons. Asteroids. You name it.
cabineye: (8)

[personal profile] cabineye 2013-03-01 09:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ clara you never made it past the asylum. shhh. ]

A leisure ship in space?

[ chuckles. he'd like to add a ship like that to his list of commandeered vessels. ]
