So....that was a bust. Some people are coming back after going home while others are waking from their dreams. Night is falling, so you better catch up with the vagabonds that stayed behind and get all who's come back together once again. There's plenty of shelter around, so just pick a building. Have a reunion.
[Mission:Regroup and camp up]

You bare stranger name than your cloth, Clara Oswald. [ sheathes his gladius and lays the shield on the floor, leaning against it ] I am Crixus. Come, tell me: what do the Gods ask us to do.
no subject
To find someone, we assume. Returning home is out of the question before we accomplish our mission.
no subject
That's about it. We've been traveling some time getting there.

This looks like a sorry bunch for the pursuit of one person. [ is he a warrior
i'll have him. ]

You take me for a fool? [ gestures at the camp ] A lesser man than I could take all and you would fall dead to sand. How long have you been here?
no subject
A month roughly. It's no walk in the park either. I assure you, you need more than muscle to survive a place like this.
no subject
she'd fly. ]
A month? [ he laughs a little again and tilts his head, smiling amusedly ] And yet you walk on such little legs. Tell me, what does this place have that could pose challenge to a gladiator?
no subject
All sorts of nasty things. Creatures from the underworld. Gods that test you. We've yet to have a gladiator, so I guess we'll see how much better than us you are when the time comes. It's not a competition, we just want to go home.
no subject
smiles widely at the notion of fighting off nasty things ] Not a competition? [ u know nothing jon snow ] Life is a competition. If you do not aim to become the champion, it is not worth to live.
[ he takes in a deep breath and looks around ]
Who leads these men into quest?
no subject
Usually it's the mapholder, and they are currently scouting.
no subject
[ you guys are really useless. this is the bunch the gods chose? preposterous! ]

[rounds the corner expositing sadly and then looks up at new guy. and further up. apparently he's down a stair. or crouching. or something.]
Uh. New friend?
[please be a friend.]
no subject
[lets not tell him you have the map, he might wipe your face with the floor]
no subject
what the fuck is that in your face. ]

[you look... oily. did the romans shake hands? he's pretty sure they did the xena handshake. holds out a hand, although. obviously he's armed. it's the thought that counts.]
I'm Daniel Jackson, I'm an explorer from the planet Earth. Colorado. America. 2007.
[wow is he kind of naked.]
...AD.
no subject
[just sayin. and dont call him a roman for the love of the maker]
no subject
You speak words, but they do no make sense. [ what's america and what's colorado. looks at clara ] I have not heard of those lands. Is there yet untouched soil by Roman filth?
no subject
Yep, there sure is, a whole lot of it, though with the spread of European colonialism in the 19th century... You know what, that's not really an answer, I'll just hope you're around for the 400s.
[sizes him up. sort of like checking him out but with more squinting and less leaning. academic interest. sucks in air through his teeth.]
Probably not. But trust me, they'll, they'll be on their way out in no time. Eventually. Did you— Did you just get here?
no subject
[smiles and nods]
Just about. You find anyone else?
no subject
Your words would mean shit, little man. [ rests his hand on the hilt of the gladius ] You search for more of your men?
no subject
[visibly restraining himself from asking crixus questions. lots of questions. that are not helpful. flicks his eyebrows up at "little man" and does not mention the fact that he's pretty sure he's at least a few inches taller than this guy.]
Uh, yes, we search for more of our men. And women. There were kind of a lot of us, but then some of us went home and came back and... Yes, we're looking for more people. I think there's nobody else in the city, so we shouldn't be that hard to track down.
no subject
[also not really important to drag them back, since we're still on the road home and they clearly arent]
