Good job, you found the machine. It's not so simple as turning a lever, but you're getting there. You know it runs, but you should clean out all the animal bones from the gears before moving forward. The sun is setting in the abandoned city. While a few brave souls step forth to do the dirty work, how about the rest of you enjoy the last of each other's company and try not to cry or whatever.

How did this get abandoned?

That's a good question. I mean it obviously didn't explode or break down in any spectacular manner. I obviously don't know that much about clockwork, but I can't even find anything really wrong with it with the exception of, of the mere fact and consequence of its abandonment. Maybe, maybe people stopped using it? Maybe the flow of Outsiders stopped? Or maybe when everyone left the town this just got left behind by default?

[shrugs. holds the flashlight steady.]

Honestly I wouldn't mind more time to stay and look around, but. Things to do back at home. I hope.
