The Duke is no longer himself, Blind Marge shared some details about the beginning of the curse and the Spanish guy left taking Neri and Icarus with him. They're in a better place now. Not dead though! Haha.

Found all your stuff already? If not you better act quick because most of the townsfolk are leaving, they've been stuck here for a long while and some have their real family waiting for them. They'll take whatever they can with them as they go so there's looting and chaos all around the usually so peaceful town.

It also seems that the destruction of the apple trees set off the crows. They're making a horrible noise as they fly over your heads and kaw loudly. More birds seem to arrive to the scene every minute. It's almost like you're stuck in a Hitchcock movie. Time to go?

Map? Right! There's a map. [mumbles.] Keep forgetting about that.

[quick look around.] What we need is to gather everyone. It's impossible for us to leave if we're all scattered. The map, ohh never mind that, we could always make a new one! Not me, though, I can't draw maps and end up getting even more lost than if I didn't have one. Which is... sort of the whole point most times so I suppose it serves its purpose.

[ stares at him. yeah, map. you know. the thing that'll get us out ]

Oh yes, so I was told. Or does it? [looks all conspiracy theory at you, pointing finger] It's not like any of us have ever found the way out is it? For all we know, that map could be leading us the exact opposite direction. Besides, who's to say there's only one way out?

[ there was a way out once but it involved death and sacrifice and We Don't Talk About It

looks at him with a bit of an exasperated look and shakes his head, gesturing vaguely ] I don't make the rules, it's just how it is. We've been here long enough to get that the map marks the X and the X could be a way out, so I'm voting we keep the map. [ these people and their conspiracy theories ]

[frowns and wrinkles nose. looks like a weird mix between a spoiled brat and a grumpy old man.]

Look, why would you want to test out a theory that can risk our exit strategy? The map is for real. People tried to steal it from us, people died because of that. So don't say it's not real, all right? Just keep your whacky theories under a lid for a while.
