Alright yall enough doodling around. It's nightfall in Alderwood, so grab yourself a hotel room, you can either opt for the snazzy spacious 5 star in the high class end of town or one of the less financially debilitating rooms on the second floor of the inn/pub, but expect to hear a lot of hooker noises and drunken cowboys from downstairs. You get what you pay for.
You ought to grab yourself a bounty poster and decide on a plan of action so that you have direction for your adventures tomorrow, because the Sheriff seems like he's not gonna stand for you taking advantage of their kindness if you're not going to hold up your end of the bargain.
There are four main bounties posted in the courthouse, but they're scattered about the town on posters, too. There's Dewie Martin, the highest paying bounty, Earl Johnson, Janna Turner and Billy Turner. There are other, lesser bounties, but those seem to be the four the Sheriff's really pushing for.
[Mission: rest up, youre going bounty hunting tomorrow morning]

leans back and makes a sort of what the fuck but this is funny face and looks at him then back at the patron
guess that worked ]
He's got a bounty on his head for some reason other than being a [ wavy hand ] yellow-bellied slimy good for nothing?

Clarence, you tell this kid all you know bout that Earl! Be helpful for once in your life.
[ apparently nick wants to get himself killed. it's all very amusing to him. ]

[waves the glass at him in a familiar way and turns to nick]
He's known round these parts. Used to come around peddlin a miracle cure, that lying sack of horse shit. Swore up and down it'd do all kinds of good for you for "Only a dollar per bottle!" O'course it wouldn't do you no good to only get the one bottle, you see, you had to have a steady supply, rest of your life. Nothin but a two-bit snake oil salesman.

Any known whereabouts?

[ he might not appear so but he knows you're watching raylan. he knows. ]

[tosses his drink back and sets the empty glass down. he fills up their drinks again]
On the house, boys. You oughta need it if you're heading bounties. Messy business. The scamming, y'see, that's just what got him his piss poor reputation. It's the company he keeps that's earned him a bounty the likes of what he has. Dewie Martin, that murdering sack of shit, crazier than a run over coon and mean enough to eat off the same plate with a snake to boot. They're what you call birds of a feather.

grabs his drink once he's finished with it and crosses his arms behind it, leaning forward a little more. oh my god the southern speak though. it's just so
it's
it's so.
hm. ]
Ida and Billy Turner part of that flock? [ since he's always seen the posters together ] Do they come into town?
no subject
[ there's so much western manly tension even though nothing's actually happening. he's not really paying attention to the story anymore. it's the funny guy who keeps watching him who's receiving his crazy stare now. ]
[ still smiling as he reaches for his drink. maybe he's swaying slightly maybe he isn't. despite all he appears almost too confident and relaxed. it's just the way he is. ]
no subject
[turns around to put the bottle up and talks with his back turned]
Sure enough the Turners run with Martin. The four of them, crooked as a dog's hind legs, never done a good deed since they rolled into town. O'course they never got the chance to stay long, seein as they're outsiders an all. Shipped off to Summerhill with the rest o' them, I tell you outsiders bring nothin' but trouble.
[looks over shoulder at nick pointedly, though he still seems good natured there's clearly some kind of tense prejudice underneath it]
no subject
smiles at him anyway because he really can't blame the guy. trouble does seem to follow them around like a starving cat ] Sorry about that. [ taps at the beer and coughs a little ]
How can we get to Summerhill?

Thanks, Mr. Clarence. [ raises beer at him ]
no subject
So it's "we" now, is it, kid?
You plan on draggin us down with you?
[ lmao he's not going to start bounty hunting some sad bastards who're together worth less than him. ]
[ finishes his drink and pulls out a cigarette. ]

[watches clarence lose interest in the ragtag group and go see to another pretty female patron]
no subject
raylan, on the other hand, could prove himself useful. he was a pretty good shot ] What about you?
no subject
Better watch out what you're agreein to. Might get you killed for all I know.
[ u with me or him, raylan? it's decision time. lights the cigarette with a match and puts it out by waving it in the air. ]
no subject
Just might. I don't mean to smudge your line in the sand, but I don't intend to pick sides, boys. Thanks for the drink.
[later]
no subject
i mean ] Hm. [ goes back to his beer and sips, grabbing a pencil from his bag, and sketching down the information the guy just told them. taps it against the table and slides back it to the bag ]
Thanks for the help with the worse, Jesse. [ folds the poster and taps his head ] Gonna drag a couple of people to death. [ smiles at him and leaves the money to cover for the beers
gonna go look for dean ]
no subject
[ watches him do his thang and nods to him as a goodbye. when nick's gone he takes his hat from the counter and puts it on his forehead true western style before pushing it back. ]
Later, Clarence, you old goat.
[ smirks. he's also gonna slide away, perhaps after raylan or perhaps not. ]
