It is dawn. The Hildnr prepare to march for war. Michonne's distraction in releasing the griffins has caused a kerfuffle and catching the spooked mounts sets them back valuable riding time -- the girls have about a ten minute headstart. The fact that the new recruits are missing from the war-band does not go unnoticed and the distant sounds of horns being sounded and the warriors' cry of WUR HA chase them all the way down the mountain as they follow the ice-covered trail back down to the men's village.

They may not find the village as they left it, however. The houses still stand, but the men are nowhere to be found. It looks like a ghost town. The impending sound of the Hildnr army swarming the path behind them gets louder by the minute.

[Mission: Find the blood champion before the Hildnr raid the men's village ]

Hey, calm down. [ puts herself in front between them and the group with her hands outstretched to show she isn't harmed ] We came looking for the blood champion. The village was already empty when we got here.

[steps up next to her and shifts shoulder so that he's angled between them even if he's shorter and tinier. she might be making the words but he'll play the meatshield]

Not yet. [ eyeing the weapons, trying to cover more of the group ] If you give us a little more time, we'll find her.

No time. The men hide somewhere. Smoke them out! Burn it all!

[the women start chanting again, lighting torches and surrounding the group]

[well so much for saving the town]

You got another plan?

Killing them isn't an option. They might not be very eager to help us getting across the wall.

[ watches to warriors do their stuff with glazed eyes. ]

[the reinforcements arrive on griffinback, charging through the streets of the village with lit torches ready to set fire to the buildings in lieu of being able to murderize the occupants]

[but before they can get far a gagarian child runs into the street before the griffin riders and yells]

Stop!

[the griffins immediately halt, dismounting the riders with the force of it]

[ sorry bo needless violent is going to happen anyway ]

The griffins obeyed that kid. Is that her?

[all of the warriors stop what they're pillaging and drop to one knee]

[the blood queen herself dismounts gracefully from a griffin and walks up to her daughter]

I am surprised that we find you well.

You find me well because I was not abducted. I left of my own will.

It matters not. They harbored you, they will burn. You will return with us.
